Example of elearning design elements
I'm an instruction designer and eLearning developer in Australia. I contract across a lot of sectors, like mining, electricity, rail, health, education, and government. I work with a lot of different eLearning apps; Adobe Captivate is my tool of choice.

Hi all,

I move from contract to contact quite often. It’s common that I will refresh a company’s eLearning template upon starting. This has been a good opportunity to try new things, to iterate, to test, and to refine along the way. Over the course of many projects, I’ve landed on a set of eLearning design elements and concepts that are consistently very well received by both stakeholders and end users.

In addition to my own ideas and testing, I’m sure through cross-pollination that I’ve integrated and synthesized the design elements and the thinking of many others. This would come from the world of other instructional designers, web developers and UX designers. Consequently, there is much kudos to go around.

In the spirit of sharing, I have a link to my sample (on AWS). There isn’t anything in here that is too complex. To replicate, you would need to know your way around working with variables and advanced actions. And of course, there is more than one way to achieve the same result.

All projects are different and there’s no one solution that’s right for everything. If you see any design elements or concepts in my sample that might work in your context, you’re most welcome to borrow, adapt, refine, and improve!

Thanks,

Ben
