Does anyone know where the “complete your profile” information is going? Is this Adobe requesting this information or is it going to someone else?
I only ask as I have filled out a similar “profile page” many times in the past to watch seminars. In addition, since I have subscriptions to both Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Captivate I also have a profile established with Adobe which already provides ALL the information that is being requested in the profile page that is required to watch Paul’s video.
So I am curious if this request for information is just Adobe being redundant, or if someone else is requesting, and getting, the profile information provided to watch this video.

I tried to post a comment since the video is not available unless you can get past the Kafka like “Proceed screen”. But it turns out trying to post a comment is even more frustrating than trying to get past the Proceed screen.

So let’s see, to watch Paul’s video you have to click “Proceed” to “complete your profile” and then when you click “Proceed” it says you that a “Complete Profile (is) Required” to Proceed.
Wow.
I wonder if this is some kind of A/B testing where the Adobe Captivate team wants to see just how many times a person will click on the Proceed button before giving up.
Well, I clicked on it four times and now I’m giving up.
If it is a test I’m hoping it ends soon as I’d like to watch Paul’s video as they are always very well done and very instructional.
So, on Paul’s video “Scenario-based eLearning in Minutes with Adobe Captivate” the screen has a message that overlays the video start button that says “Click “Proceed” to complete your profile.” I am assuming that providing additional information to Adobe is necessary to watch the video.
So, since I want to watch the video I click the “Proceed” button which I assume will take me somewhere so I can complete some additional profile other than the one I have with Adobe. But rather than take me to a place where I can “complete” my profile, a little drop-down box appears and says “Complete Profile Required.”
Hmmmm, so let’s see, to watch Paul’s video you have to click “Proceed” to fill out a profile, but then when you click “Proceed” it says that a “Complete Profile (is) Required” to Proceed. Really?
As someone who has an MEd in Learning Design and Technologies I am going to go out on a limb and say this process is not designed for a productive learner outcome. Simply put, it is bad UX.
However, if I was to give the Adobe Captivate team the benifit of the doubt, then I might conclude this might be some kind of A/B testing where the Adobe Captivate team wants to see just how many times a person will click on the Proceed button before giving up.
