Hello everyone,
we used smartshapes and set them as button to reach the next slide. It worked perfectly fine in the preview but after we uploaded the lesson as a scorm file in our lms, the smartshape did not work properly. You have to click in the right corner on the bottom of the smartshape to make it work. Did anyone experience the same problem? We are now using the buttons and click boxes but it would be nice to make the function work.
Thanks
Maria
Hello and thanks for your reply,
we tried a few things and figured out, that the button-function of smart shapes doesn’t work properly, when we are setting a frame in the skin editor. But it doesn’t seem to be the only problem. O.o
The weird thing is, that it did work in the beginning. We didn’t change anything in the way we work: We are using the latest version of captivate and all other function work fine in the lms (latest version of moodle). The projects are non-responsive. We used smart shapes in several ways: objects in drag and drop, as buttons (with and without additional states). They all do not work anymore.
Are you on version 11.8.1? That is the most recent version which is only available for Windows. Or are you on Mac. Something must have changed.
What exactly do you mean by ‘ setting a frame in the skin editor’. Terminology can be tricky. To me a frame is probably something different from what you mean. The number of frames per second is one of the factors defining the quality of a movie. In Captivate that is 30FPS by default. But that has no link whatsoever with the Skin editor.
This is very weird, I use shapes all the time.
Personally I never have seen that type of issues with shape buttons, which I used since version 6 all the time (have presented multiple webinars about shape buttons). However I did see this problem several times in the forums.
Are you sure to be on the latest version of Captivate and that it is compatible with the OS version you are using? An older version typically had this problem if my memory is correct.
Is this a responsive or a non-responsive project? If it is a non-responsive project: did you publish as rescalable HTML output? If it is responsive, did you use Fluid Boxes? How did you set up the fluid box in which the shape button(s) is inserted?
Can you check the Object states of the shape button? The InBuilt states are normally locked in size and location to the Normal state. Did you add extra states? Have a look at this blog post:
