In this article we are going to show you how the various attendance marking options for Admins and Instructors will work for online virtual instructor lead training and offline classroom modules –

Instructors and admins now will be able to mark the attendance of learners upon completion of a Classroom
and Virtual classroom sessions in the below ways –

1. Mark Attended
2. Mark attended with pass
3. Mark attended with fail
4. Mark not attended”

1. Mark Attended:
Marking a learner only “Attended” will turn the attendance status icon to orange in color which means
the learner has only attended the session and not completed the module/session which will keep the
learner’s enrollment status for the module “in-progress” in the course and the associated reports.

2. Mark attended with pass:
Marking a learner with “Mark attended with pass” will turn the attendance status icon to green in color
which means the learner has successfully attended and completed the session and will turn the
learner’s enrollment status for the module “completed” in the course and the associated reports.

3. Mark attended with fail:
Marking a learner with “Mark attended with fail” will turn the attendance status icon to orange in color
which means the learner has attended and completed the session but failed the module/session and
will turn the learner’s enrollment status for the module “Completed” in the course and the associated
reports.

4. Mark not attended:
Marking a learner with “Mark not attended” will turn the attendance status icon to red in color which
means the learner has not attended the session and will keep the learner’s enrollment status for the
module “Not Started” in the course and the associated reports.

Admins and Instructors will get the new attendance types “Mark attended with pass” and “Mark attended
with fail” only if instructors are allowed to mark success for learners, the option to enable or disable this
is there in the module settings of the classroom and virtual classroom sessions.


If this option is enabled then all the four attendance marking types will be available for the admin and
the status colors of the attendance and the reporting will be the same as explained above.

If this option is not enabled then the admin and instructors will only see the “Mark Attended” and “Mark
not attended” option in the actions drop down on their side of the course. In this case the old behavior
applies –
Mark Attended will be green in color and the enrollment status of the learner will show “Completed”,
including in the reports.
Mark not Attended will be red in color and the enrollment status of the learner will show “in-progress”,
including in the reports.
