Hoping someone can answer my question. I’m trying to create a new software simulation which is something I’ve done about a thousand times. I have my system application that I want to record on my screen and I’ve pressed Record after the countdown. I click on buttons in the system application and other actions but Captivate is not capturing anything I’m doing. The only thing it records is the last screen or page when I click End on my keyboard to stop the recording. Is there a new setting I’m not aware of? I tried to record a test simulation doing various steps in Outlook and it works just fine. Why can I not get it to record my system application?
I have seen similar questions before but need to ask some clarifications:
- Which version of Captivate do you use? I need the full version number as you can find under Help, About Captivate.
- Are you on Windows or Mac?
- Which Theme do you use: the software simulations are using the Blank master slide. Is that master slide available in your theme?
- If you kept the default settings, did you ever hear the camera click?
- Do you see any images in the Backgrounds folder of the project library?
- Did you try to insert an extra manual slide (on Windows that is done using the PrintScreen button) during capture?
- To have a 1px/px setup did you edit the DPIAwareness settings or did you change the resolution and display resolution of your monitor?
