Adobe Captivate – Cannot save simulation projects on free trial?
Hello, I am new to this software. I am with the free trial. I am using it to create simulations. So far it is good, I can record videos, edit and export them. Nevertheless, I cannot save the project itself. Whenever I try it it just gets stuck on a loading animation. I even left it there around an hour and nothing happened. Does anyone know if this is because of the free trial? Has anybody else suffered this?
Oh, ok, thanks!
Do those conditions apply to the paid version as well?
Let’s say I paid for one month of Captivate, I did a lot of projects and saved them. After 6 months I pay again another month of Captivate to edit those projects I had saved. Would I be able to do that or are they deleted after my paid month finishes?
Trial versions are fully functional, that is for sure not the problem.
At this moment two version of Captivate are active: version 12 and Captivate Classic (11.8.2). Can you tell which version you are using? You tell that you can ‘export’ the file, do you mean that you can publish the file, upload it to a webserver and watch it using its URL?
If you are on Windows do you have Administrator rights? Are you saving to a folder which is situated on your system, not on a shared or external drive?
Hmm, that is weird. I have both versions and it is the first time I hear about this type of problem (I am also on the Adobe forum for Captivate which I moderate).
Can you try to open one of the Quick Start Projects, just edit a little bit and try to save? You don’t have a previous version of Captivate installed, I presume? And Captivate is installed also on your system? Do you run it with ‘Run as administrator’ feature (which is noth the same as just having Administrator rights.
I will try it when I get on my pc again and get back to you. And no, I do not have a previous version of Captivate installed. Captivate is installed on my system but now that you mention it, I have two disks that are related, one SSD where I run my system and a hard drive where I store and install different apps. I installed Captivate on the Hard Drive. And I have not tried to run it as administrator. I will try as soon as I can and tell you how it goes. Thank you!
Also, I will install it in a laptop to get the best out of it. I am sure my pc is the problem but I want to know why.
