Captivate version issues (HELP)

I have recently had our IT department re-install Captivate, it went from version 11.8.1.219 (2019) to version 11.8.2.254 and is called Captivate classic?

The UI is slightly different (not too much of an issue) but I am unable to preview in HTML with any file created, new or old?

We have tried reverting to 11.5.5 but in this case I am unable to open any files previously created (known problem).

My colleagues can open my files on their machines running 11.8.1.219?

Any ideas from the collective?

You didn’t install the new version along with the update to 11.8.2?

Indeed, you cannot open a project created in 11.8.2 in a previous version. I kept 11.5.5.553 on one of my systems because it is really the most stable version of CP2019. There seem to be a lot of issues with 11.8.2 although I have it on another PC along with the new version.

Did you try to Clean the Preferences already? Find the subfolder ‘utils’ under the installation folder and you’ll find the file for your OS. Captivate needs to be closed while running.

If you have also version 12, there may be a problem caused by the eLearning assets folder, but I’ll wait for your answer to my first question.
