Simple Gamification
(2)

Hi all! Need suggestions on what simple and easytodevelop gamification elements I can add to make the course engaging. I am using the new Adobe Captivate. It’s a hospitality-related course. The learners are ground staff, and the course completion rate is quite low.

Hey! The course completion rate depends on multiple factors. One of the factors is how engaging the course is. Gamification can surely help. You can add drag and drop, match the following, and true or false questions with scores and time limits to answer them. The readymade interactivity widgets, certificate widget and preset designs in the new Adobe Captivate will come in handy. Providing a completion certificate and a badge at the end of the course also has a positive impact on learner motivation to complete it. Ensure that the course completion is linked to the learners’ key performance indicators in some way. It is a great way to ensure that learners complete the course.

I could point you to multiple blogs if you didn’t use the new version. It is so limited for customisation.

Just some tips: try to offer as much control to the user as possible, for adults forcing a view is nt always a good idea. Interactive video with overlay slides can be a good idea. Use the bookmarks which are now extended to all content slides because they open possibilities for frane events. Gamification elements are often used in a childish way, you need to respect your learners in the first place. Avoid bulleted lists, give them the freedom to choose sequence of slides, pretests with the promise of skipping content if score is sufficient.
