In Adobe Learning Manager, there was an issue reported regarding the links in emails not working properly when clicking on them. This article aims to provide an overview of the issue and the solution implemented to resolve it.
Issue Description: An admin, reported that when clicking on the learning object names (hyperlinks) in automated emails, the links were directing them to the admin view instead of the expected learner view. Additionally, the admin view displayed a broken page (only header and footer were visible on the page), preventing users from accessing the complete admin page.
Investigation: It was identified that the issue only affected users with admin roles, while users with learner roles were not affected.
Solution Implementation: The admin was instructed to go to the settings tab (Admin >> Email Templates >> Settings >> Base URL for Learners) in the email templates page from the admin role. In the settings, it was advised to update the base URL to “https://learningmanagereu.adobe.com/app/learner“.
This is an example base URL for EU based account, please check the domain name from the URLs of your ALM instance.
Conclusion: The issue with links in emails directing users to the admin app’s broken page in Adobe Learning Manager was successfully resolved by updating the base URL in the email template settings. Users, especially those with admin roles, can now access the learner view without encountering any broken page issues. Adobe Learning Manager remains committed to providing a smooth learning experience for all users.
