The “Continue” button in Adobe Learning Manager (ALM) is a crucial feature that allows learners to resume their training from where they left off. In this article, we will provide an explanation of how the “Continue” button functions in ALM.

The Reported Issue: The admin, Administrator of ALM, raised a concern about the “Continue” button’s behavior. When learners tap the “Continue” button on a mobile browser or via laptop access, instead of proceeding to the next course in the Learning Path (LP), ALM launches the content of the first course, which has already been completed. This unexpected behaviour forces learners to redo the first course, causing frustration and hindering their progress.

Investigation and Response: The support team for Adobe Learning Manager acknowledged the problem and assured the admin that they would investigate and rectify the issue.

Explanation of the “Continue” Button’s Functionality: The support team provided a detailed explanation of how the “Continue” button is designed to work in ALM. The button’s purpose is to allow learners to resume their training from the last visited module or course. It does not automatically take users to the next module or course that they have not yet accessed.

For example, if a learner has completed 10 courses in a Learning Path or 10 modules in a course and their last visited module was the 5th one, the “Continue” button will redirect them to the 5th module when they revisit the training. This behavior ensures that learners can easily pick up where they left off and review previously completed content if needed.

Navigating to the Next Course: To proceed to the next course in the Learning Path, learners have two options. They can either directly click on the newly unlocked course or use the navigation button in the playbar of the fluidic player. These methods allow learners to bypass the “Continue” button’s functionality and access the next course without revisiting the previously completed content.

Confirmation of the Expected Behavior: The support team reassured the admin that the behaviour of the “Continue” button in ALM has not changed and is functioning as intended. The button’s purpose is to facilitate the resumption of training from the last visited module, and this behaviour has not been altered.
