In Adobe Learning Manager (ALM), administrators have the ability to modify user profiles, including their email addresses. However, there have been questions regarding whether users are notified when their email ID is changed. This article aims to provide clarity on this matter and explain the process of user email ID modification in ALM
. User Email ID Modification in ALM:
- Learner/Employee Request: When a user requests to change their email ID, the ALM administrator, receives the request via email. The request includes the user’s existing email ID and the desired new email ID.
- Administrator’s Action: The administrator, has the ability to edit user credentials in ALM. Option to edit is available under each user label (Select the user and click the pencil icon). However, it is important to note that making changes to a user’s email ID in ALM does not trigger an automatic email notification to the user. This is a designed behavior of ALM.
- External Communication: Users are expected to be notified about their new email ID through external communication mediums prior to any changes being made in ALM. This means that administrators, should inform the user through other means, such as email or phone, about the modification made to their email ID.
- User Login: Once the user is informed about the change, they can use their new email ID to log in to ALM. There is no need for the user to re-register in ALM if their existing profile is updated with a new email ID.
Manager Access and Notifications:
- Manager Role: Whether the manager receives any notifications or can view the details of the user’s email ID modification under their manager role access?
By design ALM does not send out notifications to managers when administrators make profile-related changes, including email ID modifications. Therefore, managers will not receive any automatic notifications regarding such changes.
Conclusion: In Adobe Learning Manager, administrators have the ability to modify user profiles, including their email addresses. However, it is important to note that changing a user’s email ID in ALM does not trigger an automatic email notification to the user. Users should be notified through external communication mediums about their new email ID prior to any changes being made in ALM. Additionally, managers do not receive notifications or have access to view the details of user email ID modifications.
