I am using Captivate 2017. Is there an autosave feature. I can’t locate it and lost a good bit of work. Thanks.

Your version is not really supported anymore.  The answer is negative – also for more recent versions. There is no AutoSave, train your fingers to use CTRL-S regularly. The Backup functionality is activated by default in Preferences. Moreover a second backup will be automatically be saved in the Cache, but it is more difficul to find due to the labeling of the folders in the Cache.
