In my Adobe Captivate project, I have imported an MP3 audio file to narrate a series of instructional slides. However, upon previewing the project, the audio does not play at all. How can I troubleshoot and resolve this issue to ensure the audio plays correctly?
To troubleshoot your problem, select the slide where audio is added and go to the Properties panel.
- Ensure that the “Slide Audio” section shows the correct audio file and that the “Mute Audio” option is not selected.
- Check the audio duration to ensure it matches the slide duration. If necessary, extend the slide duration.
- Confirm that the audio file is in a supported format (MP3 or WAV).
- Preview the slide using “Preview” to check if the audio plays correctly in the preview mode.
You don’t tell which version of Captivate you are using? Find the full version number under Help, About Captivate.
It is always better to import a wav file than a MP3 file and let Captivate compress the audio clip on publishing but that is off topic. You talk about ONE clip for the whole project or a clip per slide? How did you embed the audio in the project: as slide audio or as object audio? When previewing: which browser(s) did you use for testing?
