Dear community,

Today, we lost one of our own. Lieve, who many of us knew as the backbone of our community, passed away at 76.

If you’ve been around here for any length of time, you’ve probably benefited from Lieve’s help. If you’ve ever posted a question at 2 AM and woke up to a detailed solution, chances are it was from Lieve. She lived and breathed our shared passion, and seemed to be online at all hours, ready to jump in and help. No matter how complicated the question, she’d work on it relentlessly until she found a solution.

For years, she was our go-to person for everything. Newbies, experts, it didn’t matter – Lieve helped us all. She wasn’t just sharing knowledge; she was building this community, one solved problem at a time. Her dedication is evident in the staggering 7500 comments she contributed, each one a testament to her commitment to helping others. We are also immensely grateful for her active participation in Project Charm pre-release and her valuable contributions and feedback that helped shape the product into what it is today.

This community won’t be the same without you Lieve.

Got to know only today about her demise. I learnt most of the advanced features of Captivate from her. I am back to Captivate after a gap of few years and was hoping to learn more from her.

Great loss for me personally, and the Adobe Captivate community.

I never had the opportunity to meet her, but I’ve benefited from her selfless sharing of knowledge for years. My heartfelt condolences to all of her friends and family.

This is truly heartbreaking. I know she has turned some people off with her bluntness, but she gave more than anyone – always happy to share and help others, giving freely of her time and knowledge. I had the pleasure of meeting her and thanking her for all she does and did. Her real life persona shone and she was very sweet and funny. So sad to read this. RIP Lieve!

This is indeed another blow to the Captivate community.

I doubt that anyone else has given more to Adobe Captivate users than she has.

I will miss her sage advice and tutorials. I haven’t noticed anything posted on the Captivate Community Forum. Did I miss it?

I just heard of Lieve’s passing and will miss her. The online eLearning community will not be the same without her. She contributed immensely with her vast knowledge but even more so with her personality and authentic human interactions.

Rest in peace, Lieve.

I am incredibly sad to hear this. Lieve helped me out of many a Captivate jam over the years. She leaves behind a wealth of knowledge with her very active dedication to the Adobe Expert Community (https://elearning.adobe.com/profile/Lilybiri) and her blog (https://blog.lilybiri.com/).
