Hello
I am using Captivate classic and have made a basic eLearning course with a tile to click on, which when clicked, triggers 1 point, which then triggers that the course is complete and passed successfully. This works perfectly on Scorm Cloud.
However, if I attempt any of the knowledge check slides during the test (it doesn’t matter if I get them correct or incorrect) and then click the tile to close the course as previously done, SCORM Cloud shows the course as failed.
Can anyone advise me on how to overcome this issue as I really want the knowledge check slides in the course but they are not mandatory so I don’t want the to prevent the learner from having a complete / success record if they attempt them!
This is how the AI looks….Only the tile “Button” is included in the Quiz, so I didn’t think the KC slides would impact at all on the learner successfully completing.
What am I missing? I am on my own so I have no one to bounce this off. Thank you.
Thanks Lieve shame I have not been able to see your response as I expect it would have been very useful as ever.
I am back from a period of leave and have impressed upon my IT team the need to push updates to my PC. It is server based and I have no control, I just assumed I always had the latest version as this is what I was told. Will keep an eye on it.
I am experiencing all kinds of strange behaviours and wasting a lot of my own time and other people’s time on the forum so fingers crossed the update fixes these bugs and doesn’t present me with others!
All the best
Kirstie
No problem, Kristie, you are one of the rare users who ever react to a response, most do never come back or ignore them.
For sure, not all bugs are solved yet, but keeping up to date is the best way to minimize their amount. It is a problem in a controlled environment. Make sure always to move a project to your system for editing, do not do this while it is on a networked drive (even not OneDrive).

It is a very buggy release you are using. It was necessary to cope with an iOS system upgrade, but heard about many issues. However I still don’t think they would be the reason for your problem. Sorry, I need to see the Reporting setup.
Thanks for double-checking that only that button is scored (I would have changed it to a higher score anyway). Learner is forced to click that button in any circumstances. Did you use a completion criterion which is based only on Quiz Passing, not on slide views?
Very tiny screenshot, and it gets blurry when increasingµ. I don’t see anything worrying at first sight. However some LMSs have issues with using points as passing score, prefer percentage.
The default ‘Continue’ has been left for both Pass/Fail actions on quiz level. It is very important to have at least one slide after the score slide. Is that the case? Since you have a scored button, that button will be before the score slide.
Just wondering why you turned off bookmarking by LMS?
My previous answer is lost for the n’th time. Why do I keep up with this platform?
I don’t see anything wrong with the setup of SCORM 1.2. Personally I always prefer setting passing on a percentage, not on points because some LMSs have issues with points but not SCORM Cloud.
I just wonder why you deactivated bookmarking by TOC (option Never Resume…. is checked in your screenshots)?
Please, always mention the full version number which you find under Help, About Captivate. The term ‘Captivate Classic’ normally is used only for version 11.8.2 & 11.8.3 which are both more buggy than verson 11.5.553. Knowing the version is easier for me which bugs I will expect.
However this is very weird situation because:
- Knowledge Check slides do not have a score, and are not included for reporting. Can you double-check by opening the Advanced Interaction panel (F9) to see if there are not some other interactive objects scored and added to the Total Quiz points which you see on top. If the panel is unknown to you, have a look at:
‘Advanced Interaction panel’ – Q&A – Captivate blog (lilybiri.com) - You don’t tell anything about the setup of the Reporting, can you post a screenshot of the settings please? I want to see the criteria you are using and which SCORM template.
