Adobe Captivate 12.3 – Resizing slide sizes for publishing
(2)

Hello,

we have created a responsive project with 12.3, not the classic version of captivate. We created the project for desktop slide size 1366 x 768. But after publishing the project, box elements and texts were moved.

Unfortunately we did not find an option to publish projects for the same slide sizes, which we have used to created it with.

We think this is due to the only available slide size format (desktop).

Is the only solution to change to the Classic version of Captivate or can this be configured?

Thanks for your help.

In the responsive project mode, Captivate does not lock the project to a specific resolution, like 1366×768, because it’s designed to be fluid across different devices. However, there are a few things you can try:

  1. Positioning Elements: Ensure that the elements (like text boxes) are anchored properly within the fluid boxes. This can help maintain their positions relative to the screen size. You can also use the position properties to fine-tune how elements respond to different screen sizes.
  2. Breakpoints: Adjust the breakpoints in your responsive project to better control how content shifts between different screen sizes. Customizing these breakpoints may help you achieve a more consistent look across devices.
  3. Static Breakpoint: You might consider setting a static breakpoint in the responsive project, which could help in maintaining the layout close to your desired dimensions.

Alternative: Switching to the Classic Version

If maintaining the exact positioning of elements is crucial and the responsive nature is causing too many layout issues, then switching to the classic version of Captivate might be the most straightforward solution. This will allow you to set a fixed resolution (e.g., 1366×768) and publish the project exactly as you designed it.
