Adobe Captivate 12.4: Captions Voice Change – Audio Update causes crash
(1)

Hi All – on Captivate 12.4 I do change the voice in a caption and initiate the audio update – that crashes / shuts down Captivate. Is the size of the project an issue? It tried within a single page in a different project the same – just 2 words as caption with voice – that worked…any ideas?

Hi,

There may different possibility. Please try the following

  1. Large project size: If your project is large, Captivate may struggle with memory usage, especially when generating or updating audio. You could try:
  • Dividing your project: Break the project into smaller segments to isolate the problem. You can later merge these pieces when needed.
  • Reducing media assets: Check for heavy media files like videos, images, or audio clips that could be bloating the project size and reduce their resolution or size where possible.

2. Clearing cache: Captivate’s cache can sometimes become corrupted. Try clearing it:

    • Navigate to Edit > Preferences > General Settings.
    • Locate the “Clear Cache” button and click it.
  • Reset preferences: Sometimes resetting preferences can fix issues. Go to Edit > Preferences > General Settings and select “Reset Preferences”.
