Hi,
I’ve been playing with the character poses in the all new version of captivate. Some of the poses have the characters holding signs. Is there a way of adding content to the sign itself (I assume that’s what they’re for).
thanks
Ron
The cutout characters are a holdover from the Adobe Captivate 11 or earlier versions, where you could add a text caption over the top of an image. In Captivate 11 or earlier, you could even slightly rotate the text caption to match the angle of the cardboard that the character was holding. I expect that at some point, we will see non-responsive projects where objects can be laid on top of one another. At such a time, we should be able to repeat this older workflow.
I’ve partly found an answer to my own question. I can copy the character image, and paste and insert and image or text via powerpoint etc, then save as a picture and reimport it. But that’s a bit longwinded. It also copies the background, which is a problem if the character is placed in front of anything other than a plain background (whereas the background is transparent when using native characters).
Does anyone know how to copy the characters with a transparent background?
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
Text can be added to the speech card next to the characters, but not directly on the character image itself. For more details on working with Characters in Adobe Captivate, you may refer to this help article: https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/help/add-characters-captivate-project.html
We hope this information addresses your query. We also encourage you to submit your valuable feedback and suggestions directly in Captivate via Help->Provide Feedback. You may also contact the technical support team directly via chat (https://www.adobe.com/getsupport) for assistance.
