Is it possible in Captivate (with either new or Classic, but preferably new), to allow users to retake a quiz when they pass it?
I’ve been trying to do this, setting the results slide to allow multiple attempts, and showing the retake button. But when the user passes, it only allows the user to review their answers. They can’t take the quiz again, or change their answers.
(However, if they fail the quiz they can retake, so I know it’s working in that regard.)
How can I allow the user to retake a quiz when they pass it?
Thank you for the answer. I’d feared as much.
It seems, then, that the design of the software itself belies a narrow-minded and backward approach to learning. It presumes that the sole objective of the learner is merely to pass the assessment itself, rather than to learn. Many learners want to re-test themselves even when they pass, because they would like to understand the points didn’t get correctly, albeit it with a passing score. It’s very common.
Can the developers of Captivate honestly say that it would be such a huge change to alter the javascript “cp.resetQuizData()” so that it functions also when the quiz has been passed? Or to allow a separate javascript to accompish that?
Yes, I’ll put this to them directly in “Help>Provide Feedback.” I can’t believe Captivate has been around this long and they haven’t made this possible.
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
In Adobe Captivate, the users do not have an option to retake a quiz after passing it. It is designed to allow users to reattempt a quiz only if they fail. Once a user achieves a passing score, the option to retake the quiz is disabled by design.
We hope this information addresses your query. We also encourage you to submit your valuable feedback and suggestions directly in Captivate via Help->Provide Feedback.
