Adobe Captivate 13.1 is here!
We’re excited to share Adobe Captivate 13.1, a release built to help you get more value from what you’ve already created, while giving you new ways to design engaging, modern learning experiences.
Whether you’re dealing with legacy content, building interactive courses, or scaling for a global audience, this release is all about making your workflow faster, smoother, and more flexible.
What’s New in Captivate 13.1
-
Bring Your Captivate Classic Projects Forward (Beta)
If you’ve been holding onto older Captivate Classic projects, this one’s for you.

With the new Classic project import (beta), you can bring your existing courses straight into Captivate 13.1. That means:
-
- You can import your older projects without starting over
- Reuse slides, content, and interactions that are supported
- Keep working on your legacy content in a modern authoring environment
In short, no more rebuilding everything from scratch. You save time, effort, and a lot of frustration.
-
Import Simulation Projects from Captivate Classic (Beta)
If you’ve built software simulations in Captivate Classic, you can now start bringing them into the new Captivate experience. Adobe Captivate 13.1 introduces beta support for importing simulation projects, including software demos and training simulations. This gives you a way to reuse existing work instead of recreating everything from scratch.

Here’s what currently comes through:
-
- Highlight boxes
- Click boxes
- Input fields
- Typing text
Since this feature is still in beta, a few things to keep in mind:
-
- Full-motion recording (FMR) content may not import as expected
- Some formatting and interactions may need manual review and adjustment
While support is still evolving, this is a strong first step toward making simulation migration easier so that you can evaluate, adapt, and modernize your content at your own pace.
-
Slider Widget: Capture Meaningful Learner Input
The Slider widget adds a more thoughtful, interactive layer to your courses by letting learners express how strongly they feel or how confident they are, instead of just picking a single answer.

It works especially well for:
-
- Self-assessments
- Confidence checks
- Opinion-based questions
Learners can move the slider to indicate their level of agreement, readiness, or understanding, making the experience feel more natural and reflective.
By replacing traditional question formats with a dynamic rating-style interaction, you create something that’s not only more engaging but also intuitive to use.
-
Stack Card Widget: Simple, Focused Learning—One Card at a Time
If you prefer a more exploratory style, the Stack Card widget is a great addition. The Stack Card widget lets you present content as a clean, layered set of cards that learners can move through one step at a time. With a simple click or tap, each card comes into focus, making it a lightweight, distraction-free experience that works especially well on mobile devices.

With built-in animations, multiple design options, and responsive behaviour across devices, it’s easy to create polished, interactive experiences without extra effort.
-
Smarter PowerPoint Imports
Importing PowerPoint just got more flexible. Now you can:
-
- Pick only the slides you want to import
- Add more slides later to a PowerPoint‑imported Adobe Captivate project

It’s a simple change, but a big time-saver if you regularly work with presentations.
-
Right-to-Left (RTL) Authoring: Build for Global Audiences
Creating courses for right-to-left languages is now much easier with built-in RTL authoring support in Adobe Captivate 13.1.

You can design courses in languages like Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian, with Captivate handling text direction, layout, and editing seamlessly. The result? Content that feels natural and intuitive for RTL learners without extra workarounds or manual adjustments.
It’s a simple way to make your courses more inclusive and truly global.
Why This Release Matters
By combining content reuse, powerful new widgets, and enhanced localization, this release helps you move faster without compromising quality. Whether you’re modernizing legacy courses, building simulations, or designing engaging new experiences, Adobe Captivate 13.1 gives you the tools to create smarter, faster, and at scale.
