Unable to Preview, Review, or Open Published Project

After creating my project, my preview button is no longer working, my review link opens to a dead link, and I published the project to see if that would open, and same thing, a dead link. During creation, the preview button worked a couple times but now has stopped entirely. I used the “CleanReference.bit” to clear the cache and still nothing. If anyone has any ideas how to fix, please help.

I’ve seen this happen when Captivate projects aren’t saved locally or when preview defaults to SWF. A few things to try:

  • Save your project on your local drive (not network/cloud).
  • Use Preview → HTML5 in Browser instead of SWF.
  • Try previewing just a few slides (Next 5 Slides) to confirm output.
  • Clear preferences by launching Captivate with Shift+Ctrl+Alt held down.
  • Republish as HTML5 only and test in Chrome/Edge.
