Adobe Captivate: Drag and Drop widget not resetting state
Hi all,
I am currently using All new Adobe Captivate 13.1.1.200, and trying to create a Drag and Drop widget for my learners to use.
I would like them to review the content on a previous slide if they get the matches incorrect, and then have another attempt at the Drag and Drop. However, if they go back and review the previous slides, when they come back to the widget the state has not been reset and they cannot press the submit or reset buttons.
I’ve tried to make it so they have a single attempt, and then they’re taken back to the previous slide – which brings about this issue. But then, if I leave the widget with unlimited attempts, they can’t go back to review the content.
If anyone knows any workarounds or fixes it would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your query.
The behavior you’ve described is a known issue in the current version of Adobe Captivate and has already been reported to our engineering team. The issue is planned to be addressed in a future application update.
As a workaround, after navigating back to the Drag & Drop slide, click the Reset button before making any changes to the drag-and-drop objects. Once the interaction has been reset, you can rearrange the objects and continue with the interaction as expected.
If the drag objects are rearranged immediately after revisiting the slide, without first clicking Reset, the interaction may become unresponsive and the Submit, Reset, and Next buttons may stop functioning.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we work toward a permanent fix.
We hope this information addresses your query.
Happy to help,
Adobe Captivate Support
