Creating interactive animations using Effects

In the previous post we learnt how to effectively use timing effects. In this post we will focus on triggered effects.

It’s a common scenario to attract attention to a specific item on the slide (say by zooming in the item) on some learner interaction (say a button click). Triggered effects let you achieve this. Select any interactive item of your interest (say button) & chose “Apply Effect” on the relevant event (say “On Success”) in the Action Palette. Now Select the target object (e.g. “Oval”) & apply desired effects (e.g. Zoom In) in the Effects Palette. Note that these effects will be added as triggered animation rather than (Self) Time-based animation.

Following demo shows how to apply triggered effects.

Thanks for this. I’m waiting on Captivate 5 to arrive so I can try out some of these things. I’d love to see something like this in a real-world interaction so I can see how I might use it in a module.
