A free Mac Only update to Adobe Captivate 6, (Adobe Captivate 6.0.2) is now available for download and installation through the following link; http://www.adobe.com/support/captivate/downloads.html Mavericks users may download the update directly using this link.

Mavericks Installation instructions

To install the downloaded patch, you must first have Adobe Captivate 6.0.199 OR 6.0.1.249 installed. This update is Mac Only and corrects the failure to launch issue on OS X Mavericks. NOTE: IF YOU ARE ON 6.1.0.319 (If you are on Captivate 6 and already have Drag and Drop) this is NOT your update. The update for 6.1.0.319 is expected in a couple of weeks. If you are on Captivate 7.0.1, you can use the above link to download your update, but be certain to chose the Captivate 7 update, not the Captivate 6 update.)

Once you’ve downloaded the patch, simply double click the downloaded file to install. (The installer file is called ‘AdobePatchInstaller.app’
Once the installation is complete, you will see a message stating that the update is complete: Click Close.

Verification

Launch Adobe Captivate, and choose Help > About Adobe Captivate. If the build number is displayed as 6.0.2.325, then the patch has been installed successfully.

What about Captivate 7 and 6.1 users who want to update to OS X Mavericks?
The Captivate 7 update for OS X Mavericks users was previously released. You can find details here. We are working actively on a patch that is expected to allow Captivate 6.1 users to run their copy of Adobe Captivate on OS X Mavericks Operating Systems. We expect that updates to be available in December.
