International audiences have been on our minds a lot recently. In addition to the recent update of over 20,000 new international cutout people to the Asset Store, we’ve taken an interest in the geolocation features of Captivate 9 for our templates.

First introduced with Captivate 8, geolocation support provided an opportunity to use a learner’s location as a trigger for specific events within your course. This means that you could use a location to determine the educational content that a user sees, the look and feel of the course they are in, and even the correct answers and feedback in an interaction. Using geolocation gives you an added measure of customization to your eLearning, and we really wanted to try to highlight some of this with these two new templates.

We’ve chosen to highlight 4 locations (China, Mexico, England, and the United States) to mirror our current international offering in the Cutout People Library.Adobe Captivate Scenario Template

Depending on the location of the user, the text, style, and people in the template will change to match. If the user is not in one of the predetermined locations, Location 1 will be the default. Each of the location variables can be adjust to match your specific needs.Adobe Captivate Scenario Template

Colors and images can also be adjusted as needed. Since you have the source files, you have full control over the look, feel, and message of the template.

In the second template, we’ve created a fully- customizable tabbed interaction that you can use to show off your location-based content.Adobe Captivate Geolocation Interaction

This is a great template to give instructions on a process or helpful information that may vary depending on the location of the learner. You can even use these templates as part of your efforts to localize training into the different languages of countries wherein your organization may operate.

These templates are part of our continuing effort to increase your productivity by giving you easy-to-use resources to help jumpstart your creativity. Hop into the Asset Store and start downloading these and over 40,000 other templates and assets available to you with Captivate 9!
