We recommend that you navigate to the Update page to learn more about the update and download the required update. We have also fixed the issue of previewing/publishing on a Mac in the new update.

Problem:

When previewing or publishing your courses in HTML5, it fails to load.

Pre-requisites:

You must have Captivate (2017 release) version 10.0.0.192 installed on your computer.

To check the version, click Adobe Captivate > About Adobe Captivate.

Solution:

To fix this issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Close all Captivate instances that are opened on your system.
  1. Download the hotfix for MAC from the following location: CaptivatePatch2017
  1. Unzip the file.
  1. Run the AdobeCaptivate-2017-0-1-Update_upd.dmg file.
  1. Launch Captivate and verify.

Wow, this is really lame.  I don’t see how Adobe expects users to use Captivate if they can’t publish.

I downloaded the patch, installed it and restarted my machine again. However no success yet. I am still not able to preview the HTML5 non-responsive course in browser.

Hello, I’m on 10.0.0.244 with MacOS 10.13.3. I did a clean install of 10.0 and applied the hot fix. Although I can publish, there is an issue with a play button and a blue highlight around it showing up on my published files now. Has anyone experienced this and found a solution? Autoplay is on and the “hide selection rectangle” is checked.

I’m able to install the patch, and Previewing a project works again, but Publishing a project still results in an endlessly-spinning circle.

Hi Brian,

Could you please confirm the MAC and Captivate version you see on your machine now? Also please confirm if you are getting this behavior across all browsers.

I am having this same problem. Projects will not publish. I have Captivate 2017 (10.0.0 226) and High Sierra (10.13.3). All projects get stuck on the preloader (spinning wheel). I have been seeking an answer to this for several weeks. This behavior is the same in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. I have slightly older Captivate projects that are working on the same web server. This is not a quiz, it does not track scoring, it does not need to run in an LMS. It is a single page (for testing) that will not run on a standard web server. I would really like a reply and solution as soon as possible!

I just received help from Adobe Tech Support. They quickly identified the issue. The web server was not enable to server .json files. Once this was turned on, projects load without issue.

I’m the first Captivate 2017 user for the entire Wells Fargo company and I need some help. I can’t get any of the Learning Interactions to publish…they are just blank. I don’t know if it’s a setting I’m missing. I downloaded the patch just now thinking that was the problem and it did not fix my issue. Please help. I’m trying to build some neat quizzes and I had to jump through some big hoops to get Captivate installed so I really want to produce some amazing stuff.

Hi Jaime,
Sorry for the inconvenience. This update should be installed on Captivate 2017 released version:10.0.0.192. Can you un-install the current build and install released version and apply the update on top of it.

Let me know if you still has an issue at sankaram@adobe.com

Thanks,
Sankaram.

I have the same versions of both Captivate and OS X High Sierra as well as our entire team and they all work fine without any patch. This leaves me somewhat suspicious of any secret patch.

If anyone else is experiencing the same problem as I did, try installing the new build for Captivate which Adobe has not officially released yet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IB-nccMFXDZ08jWrQZV7g2VNXUzyT3XF/view?ts=5a2838e2

This update is not working on my machine. I have the version of Captivate specified, and I’m on High Sierra 10.13.1. I just get an error message when I try to run the update saying that it’s not applicable.

When will this be rolled out to an official update so users don’t have to hunt down this page?
