Adobe Captivate crashes on start up: theme copying failed

The error in the box that follows occurs on my Mac when I attempt to launch it. I could try installing on the Parallels Windows client I have but I’d prefer to use this on the Mac.

Look at the image below. There is no folder to copy from. The source folder for copying is non-existent. The Installer didn’t create it – or if it did it created in ‘non-verbose’ and then deleted it in the background.

Attempted to install 23 May 2018. The .dmg (disk image file) I downloaded from the Adobe website is:

Captivate_2017_LS21

The Applications folder did not contain the folder as indicated in the error. Please don’t suggest I copy it or uninstall and reinstall as I have attempted both measures without success. Please address the problem at hand.

Hi, I found a solution without turning down iCloud. The problem might be, that your files are synchronised with an option “optimize mac storage”. You should go the system preferences -> iCloud -> Options and unclick the button.

Did anyone find an answer to this? I am having this same problem several years later. I can’t find an answer anywhere.

There is not ONE answer, because the causes of the problems depend on the personal situation. Post your question in the Adobe forums, maybe a staff member will contact you privately. They are rarely in this portal.

I’m having the same issue.  It worked last week, now it’s not.  Spoke with Adobe help and they are recommending that I unsync my Documents and Desktop from iCloud.  They are saying that it’s a iCloud Sync issue.

I have this problem now, too; Captivate worked fine literally last week, and now I’m unable to start it.
