Captivate 9 will not record slides

I have been using Captivate since Captivate 2 and never had this issue before.  My program will not record slides.  I checked my preferences over and over again and can’t figure out if I clicked something on/off by accident.  Is there a way to set my Captivate back to original default settings?

I can’t even get my full-motion recording to work.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  I am totally baffled by this.

Jeff

Thanks Ashish K!  Sorry I didn’t reply sooner but I didn’t see your post.  This worked like a charm !
Thanks Again!

Hi Jeff, can you check if you are using the most recent version of 9 which is 9.0.2.437? If not, please upgrade ASAP.
If you are on WIndows, be sure to use Captivate with ‘Run as Administrator’ privileges. To my experience this has become more critical than in previous versions, especially for recording.
As for FMR slide: if your goal is to publish to HTML (which is preferred since EOL of Flash Player is announced) I strongly recommend to replace FMR slides by Video Demo slides which are mp4-based.

Hi Jeff,

You may try to reset Captivate preferences using the steps below:

Close Captivate || Under installation Directory of Captivate, locate “utils” folder. Double Click the file CleanPreferencesWin, if you are on Windows or CleanPreferencesMac, if you are on MAC. Regards
Ashish
