Locked states
(10)

Hi,

I have created a branching quiz, and I want to have a bigger “continue” button in the results page (and this goes to the “submit” button as well), but I can modify only the normal state, and they rollover and down stay the same and they are locked, so I cannot change them. How can I unlock them??? they are image buttons. I tried to change the default but it doesn’t have anything about size.

Thanks

A bit late to answer this, but you’ll probably have found that the button was part of a group? Remove from the group, and lock/unlock it, and it will resolve.

Sorry, but that is not the case. InBuilt states are locked, has nothing to do with being in a group.

I didn’t know where to place this question….

There is a locked text button in one of my slides which doesn’t exist on the Filmstrip (???).

I comes up when I run the project! The adjacent slides have nothing locked either.

How is this possible?

What do you mean by ‘run’? During Preview? Which Preview method?

Are you sure it is a ‘Text button’? If it is a shape button, it could be on the master slide used for that slide.

It would be better to post this question in a new thread, because it is not really linked with the original question.

I have the same issue. My buttons are not images.

How can I unlock these states?

Please give some more details!  Are you talking about the Quiz slides? Those are embedded buttons. You can change style in the Object Style Manager. Size can be changed in the Master slides, or on individual quiz slides.

Thank you!!! I have 10.0.0.192. I’ll look at the link you sent and try with transparent buttons 🙂

Thank you 🙂

By default the Button style for Quiz buttons in all included themes with Captivate are Transparent buttons, not Image buttons. My first question is : do you really need image buttons? To create image buttons you have to create 3 images with specific names. May I point to a blog post by Rod Ward explaining how to create them:
http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate/create-custom-image-buttons
Rollover and Down states are InBuilt states, they are always locked to the Normal state and have the same size as well. But since those old image buttons are created in a different way?
Why do you not use the transparent buttons, which can be filled with an image as well in each state? You didn’t mention the version you are using. In previous versions the transparent buttons didn’t show the rollover/down states in Quiz slides, but in the most recent version 10.0.1.285 that has been fixed.
