Learning Interactions in MP4 file

Very new to Captivate and have a brand new LMS that is not the best. So if I want to use learning interactions but our LMS is telling us to export as a MP4 file, I lose the learning interactions, correct?

Basically I need a crash course in exporting and what the differences are. I previously had a Senior Learning Specialist who was a genius at captivate, StoryLine and much more, who got us up and running in our 1st LMS. Well he moved to a different country and gave almost no notice – so now all elearning falls on me and my skills are minimal.

SWF output? You have to be aware that Flash Player support is getting down even on desktop browsers, and at the end of next year will be gone totally.
Why do you not publish t HTML only? Maybe I misunderstand, but when you say SWF/HTML I understand you are publishing to both formats and using the multiscreen.html file to launch the course. Captivate should decide which version to launch based on the used device. However since a while I find that option not working very well. Try publishing only to HTML and uploading to the LMS. YOu also have to be sure that the LMS supports JSON.

Thanks Lieve! That’s what we will end up with.

As far as I know, you need to import to your LMS not export. Actually you export your project to your LMS from Captivate or any other authoring tool in SCORM, HTML or XAPI format. That clarified, Is there a problem when you upload those files to your LMS?… I’m sorry, It’s possible I don’t fully understand your problem…

Sorry our LMS is telling me what file type I need in order to fix issues with our file once inside the LMS. We are have a wide variety of issues and they keep telling me to change my file type.

MP4 is a Video format, and by definition a video is to be meant for PASSIVE watching. You will lose any interactivity, including learning ‘interactions’.
Maybe you’ll have to look for a training? Getting all answers using Q&A can work but will take time. Especially in this portal, where some Questions remain for days without anyone answering.
If that LMS cannot handle interactivity, what is its use? It means that it cannot accept data like scores of quizzes, that it has no gradebook.

Thank you! I thought I was going crazy because they were telling me I should have no problem.
So we have a HR/Payroll platform called UltiPro and UltiPro has a LMS integrated called Schoox. From the Schoox support site it tells me to create a HTML/SWF file and import that into the LMS, but we are having issue with the video not playing for everyone.
