Adobe Captivate 2019, has become a time saver authoring tool with its advancement options. Now your content can easily transform across the devices with a click. In this blog we are going to discuss two advancements – Fluid boxes 2.0 and Automatic Device Preview.
Let’s see Fluid boxes 2.0:
Select Fluid Boxes on Captivate toolbar and choose Horizontal or Vertical Fluid Box from the drop-down list.
Choose number of boxes as you wish.
You can see green color highlight and outline when you mouse-hover on any of the fluid box and the same will be reflecting in the properties inspector. And if you click on any of the fluid boxes then you can see a blue color highlight and outline both in the slide and Properties inspector.
When you select any fluid box, you can see a blue label and orange label to the corner of the box.
Orange color label – Parent Fluid Box
Blue color label – Child Fluid Box
In the earlier version you need to click on options tab to fill the fluid boxes. But in 2019 version, the fill option is given below the fluid box selection panel.
Alignment of fluid boxes were default center and middle for the smaller devices in the previous version. Whereas in this version, you can define the alignment of the fluid boxes instead of using default alignment.
There was only manual resizing of the fluid boxes in the preceding version of Adobe Captivate. In this version, it has an option where you can resize the fluid boxes by giving the values either in the form of percentage or pixels under the position panel.
You have a button in the properties panel, Distribute Objects Equally where the fluid boxes will change to same size and distributes equally.
You can also check how the content flow and fluid boxes are scaling up across the devices by clicking on the layout preview option in the properties inspector.
Now, let’s look at Automatic Device Preview option:
In the earlier version of Captivate there was a slider and list device preview option to view the content in various devices. But in Captivate 2019 version, along with previous version features, there is a layout preview option to see how the content is scaling up automatically and align across the device sizes.
Hope these advancements in upgraded version of Adobe Captivate 2019 features will help you out in creating rapid eLearning courses and providing a personalized learning experience to the learners.
