It seems like Captivate only publish in html5. In order to run my output published files I need MP4 files. Has anyone solved that problem?

Publishing in MP4 would lose all of the interactive elements (the hotspots) which is why it needs to be HTML5.

I’ve been playing around with this too but also struggling. I upload added the HTML5 (to a Moodle I have access to) and then typed in the index file’s URL into the Oculus Go browser. Strangely the hotspots work in the browser window but when you click to go into the full VR view the 360 picture works fine but the hotspots stop working.

Have tried all available browsers without success.

Any suggestions?

Hoping compatibility is improved soon.

Oculus Go is not on Captivate’s list with supported VR goggles, which is limited to smartphone goggles like Samsung Gear and Google Cardnoard.

Can you have a look at the end of this thread, where a user posted a workflow for this VR device:

You can create a Google Cloud Account and upload the file. From there, access the index.html where the executable file is.

Struggling with the same problem here. The VR features of Captivate 2019 seemed really appeling untill I faced the problem of transfering the content to Oculus Go. There are no tutorials yet so I decided not to buy the 2019 license.

I have only one option to publish for vr “Publish for virtual reality devices”. When I use that option I get a folder with 8 files including html file but I am not sure moving that entire folder will allow me to view project in Oculus Go.

MP4 is passive video. The setup for VR is clearly interactive: adding hotspots, question slides.  To allow such interactivity you need to publish to HTML. It is exactly the same for the interactive video for the same reason.
