Unable to open file created by someone else

I had someone early this year do a lot of updating of existing Captivate files. Some of these need to be updated again, but neither myself or any of my team can open any of the files she created.

They all open fine on her computer, so I would assume there is no file corruption.

The project has never been opened on my computer so there is no cache or back-up on my computer.

The error seems to indicate that any computer apart from her own seems to think the file is already open, but it is not.

At the same time I can open all my own Captivate project files, so this would indicate it is not a Captivate or Computer issue for me. I’m wondering if it is some publish setting? This is across multiple files, every single one this person created. We all have the same version  – Captivate 9

The person still works in our company so if I find out what the issue is I can get her to re-publish. Here is a screen shot of the error:

Any feedback would be helpful and most appreciated

LieveI have looked in the zip file and all subfolders and cannot find a ‘lck’ file. Or do I need to look in the cache folder of the person who created it?If so is there a setting they should turn off and re-publish it?

No, I meant really the folder where the file is saved.

I have looked and there are no other files where it is saved – there is only the .cptx file.

I have never worked on this file or had it open before on my computer.

Zip file is the published version, I meant the folder where the raw cptx-file is saved, not the published folder.

Also: are you sure to use exactly the same version (check full version number please).

OK Thanks.

I will see if I can get the other person to check where her raw .cptx file is saved and version number

Can you check in the folder if there are any files with ‘lck’ in it (locked)? That would mean that the file was not exited in the normal way and that it is still locked.
