Want to create a click button with changing display per click

Here is what I cannot figure out:  On a single slide I want to have multiple spots for which the learner selects an entry through consecutive clicks (for each individual “spot”). To be specific: On one screen in several places, the learner has to select either an “up arrow”, “down arrow”, or a “dash”. I tried drag and drop the icons in theses places, but can only do one place per slide; and the submit button that comes with drag and drop is not suitable.

Once I have mastered that, can the trainee’s entries carryover to the next slide? I then want to add comments on the correctness of his/her entry.

Please, read first of all this blog post (it has links to many other posts about Timeline):

Or if you prefer an interactive movie created with Captivate:

The blog post with multiple click/reveals and conditional action at the end, for a non)respobnsive project (have one for a responsive with Fluid Boxes as well, you didn’t specify which type of project):

If you insist on using Drag&Drop, have lot more links to offer.

Your question is not at all clear to me and I don’t know which version you are using at all. In the tags I see ‘learning interactions’, but from your question I do not see any use of Captivate’s Learning Interactions, just either a click scenario or drag&drop. Fo D&D I don’t understand how you want to do that at all.

It is perfectly possible to have multiple clicks on one slide that ‘do’ something (what?) like showing an image or switching to another state of a multistate object without releasing the playhead. You have to understand the timeline, and how to pause it. I blogged many times about that.

I also have blogs about multiple click/reveals on one slide, combined with a conditional action to have something happen when all hotspots have been clicked. I am not sure if that is what you need. I will post the links in another answer, because sometimes it takes hours before an answer with links is approved.
