Captivate 2017 – Assign 10 points to each “Correct Hotspot” selected and show running total on each slide + a results slide

I have an 8 question challenge. Each challenge is one slide and each slide has 1 correct hotspot. I need to assign 10 points to each correct hotspot and the running total needs to display on each of the 8 slides. If a learner answers every question correctly (clicks on each of the 8 correct hotspots), then at the end, they will receive 80 points total.

How do I connect the “Correct hotspot” to the 10 points and then to a running total that shows on each of the 8 slides?

Notes:

If I can set this up in a quiz that’s fine, but I cannot have a “Submit” button on each of the 8 slides. I must have the challenge set up where the “Correct hotspot” moves to the next slide.

If the quiz option only works with a submit button, then is it possible to set this up without using “Captivate quiz” slides with submit buttons?

My current skill level with advanced actions (if this helps you):

Currently, the only action I have set up for the “Correct hotspot” is “move to the next slide.” I am a newbie to advanced actions but, familiar with how to set them up. I also know how to create a new variable. I am still learning how the variables relate to “conditional” “if” “actions” “else” statements.

Thanks,

Dana

Not only new to Advanced actions, from what I read about the quiz slides.

What is that hotspot: I suspect a click box or a shape button? Both are interactive objects, which means they can have a score attached to them. Look for the Reporting part in the Properties panel. You can check the total amount of points in the Advanced Interaction panel (F9). All socres, whether from quiz slides or from scored objects will be summarized in the quizzing system variables. You can even add a score slide, when you have only scored objects, using the Quiz Preferences. Will post some links to blogs that could be interesting to you. I am used to o that in a separate comment, because sometimes comments with links have to wait for moderation.
