Captivate – Variable displaying on multiple pages

Hello,

I am a new user to Adobe Captivate 2017 Release 10.0.1.285.

I have inserted  a variable ($$cpQuizInfoStudentName$$) on a full-page certificate at the end of a Quiz. I need to also have a second wallet-size certificate with the same information but I want to enter it manually.

It appears that the variable from the first certificate is automatically entered on the next slide and I don’t know how to turn it off so that I can enter it manually.

Not yet but I haven’t finished all the reading yet.

I never use PPT, don’t understand your workflow neither. Here are some links:

That one explains how to create a custom score slide.

That is the design of the certificate: several fields are automatically filled with variables, most are system variables (Project info) but one is the user variable cpInfoStudentName which is defined in each project by Captivate.

Instead of using the widget,  create the second certificate manually.r

Hello Lieve,

I’m sorry but I don’t understand your response about creating the second certificate manually. The 2nd certificate is a separate PowerPoint slide that was imported after the first certificate slide. The 2nd certificate slide is automatically displaying fields from the first certificate – almost like in Word when headers carry over from one page to the next.

I haven’t put any variables on the 2nd slide yet. The student name and date code from the 1st certificate carried over from to the 2nd certificate. Can it not be turned off on the 2nd slide?

I answered but the answer has some links to blog posts about creating a score slide, and about using quizzing system variables. I would never think about using an imported PPT slide, because you  cannot control that slide since it is becoming a movie slide. You will have to wait for the links, moderation can take quite a while
