PowerPoint presentation imported in Adobe Captivate doesn’t work
(6)

Hi,

I have a problem with my scorm (html export).
I’ve imported Microsoft PowerPoint presentation in Adobe Captivate (2019 version), and it works well, but when it runs in browser, it stops during a slide casually, and it pauses the lesson.

Do you know any trick to solve the problem?

I have just created a Powerpoint file using Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus. When I try and import it into Articulate 2019, I get an error stating “Unable to import Microsoft Powerpoint presentation. The file may be damaged”. It seems to open perfectly well in Powerpoint. I renamed the file with a shorter name and no blank spaces in the title. Any advice what I need to do to import the entire set of slides into Captivate? I am falling at the first hurdle 🙁

Can importing be done in Adobe cloud only or can I use my laptop licence to use the functionality?

I got it to work by saving as an older version of Powerpoint 1997-2003.

I was having the same problem – using Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus PowerPoint file, attempting to import into Captivate 2019. I kept getting the error message “Unable to import Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. The file may be damaged.” as well. I followed your tip of saving the file as an older version of PowerPoint – 1997-2003 and it worked for me that way as well.

Thanks for your help!

I never use PPT import myself.  Since PPT slides are converted to movie slides, trying to repro what has been set up in PPT I suspect you have actions set up in PPT that need the user to click to advance a slide. Take out those actions in PPT, cannot be solved in Captivate because it is just doing what you asked for: playing the slide as you set it up in PPT.

No other idea, sorry about that. What was the choice when importing: Automatic?
