I’m a newbie, so be patient. I’m trying to upload a video onto my captivate presentation but it’s not allowing me to. I get an error message saying that it’s not a valid file. It’s an mp4.

What is the link between the disabling of AutoPlay and this question? I don’t understand at all. Not being able to upload a video IN a Captivate course has nothing to do with the AutoPlay disabled since second version of CP2017, which affects only the course after publication to HTML5.

It may be the wrong  Codec. When you installed Captivate, the Adobe Media Encoder was installed as well.  I don’t know which version since I ignore the version you are using for Captivate. Open your video file in the Adobe Media Encoder and convert it to H264. Then you’ll have the correct codec needed to import that Video into Captivate.

Use either the Medi button or the Video menu to import the video. You can import it as event video, which will have its own control panel, cannot be controlled by Captivate. The alternative is slide video, where the video will be synchronized with the Captivate Timeline and can be controlled by CP.
