Hyperlinking boxes using PowerPoint

I’ve imported a PowerPoint presentation and some of the slides have individual boxes to hyperlink content using a URL, local files or linking a slide within the presentation.  I’m able to link the URL fine and it plays in preview mode, but having difficulty linking a slide in the presentation or a local file.

Any suggestions to resolve?

PPT import will not take over the hyperlinks, because each PPT slide is converted into a movie slide, mimicking the animations created in PPT.

It is never a good idea to use the Import PPT feature if you want real eLearning courses. Captivate has a lot more features, but because of the way import PPT is designed lot of them are excluded. Why not unzip the PPT file (it is really a zipped folder), take out the assets, import them into the Library of a new Captivate project and recreate from scratch using the PPT as sort of a storyboard, but keeping in mind that eLearning and Presentation are two totally different situations.

Testing the links has to be done in the browser if you use HTML output, and preferably after publishing and uploading to a webserver.
