Hi all,

I read a few years back about all the issues with Captivate 7 and Windows 10 not being compatible. Issues such as fatal errors, audio not working, not being able to publish consistently, etc. Is this still a problem, or has this been fixed? Thank you for your help!

You can of course run any old program in compatibility mode. I didn’t understand your question in that sense at all. Must be my limitations in English. No new fixes in Captivate to make CP7 compatible with Win10 running in normal mode.

Not sure if this will fix your problems, but you may wish to run Captivate 7 with compatibility settings adjusted for an earlier version of Windows. As Lieve points out, Windows 10 did not exist in 2013 when Cp7 was released.

  1. Right click on Captivate 7 icon and select Properties.
  2. Click on the compatibility tab
  3. Check Run this program in compatibility mode for:
  4. Select the version of Windows that would mostly be used at the time of Captivate 7 (I would suggest Windows 7)
  5. Click Apply and OK.

You are talking about an old version, released years before Win10. It was clearly stated not to be compatible with Win10. You cannot expect now that, with being at release11 Adobe will take care of making that old version compatible with a newer OS. This is not the case for Adobe exclusively, any software company would act the same way.  They will try to patch the present version for such issues, but not a 6 years old version.
