I created a set of SCORM packages for online training purposes, using Captivate 2017. Each file is a series of slides, and each slide has a .wav file that I imported and dropped on the page. The .wav files were created using Audition 2109. Last year, using the same programs (slightly older versions), and processes, I published these packages as swf files, and the audio played without any issues. This year, I’m attempting to publish them as HTML5. The audio plays in Captivate Preview, but when I upload them as SCORM files to Moodle, the audio only plays on the first slide. I unchecked AutoPlay under Start and Stop, as well as tried every combination of publishing settings but have not found a resolution. When I publish the same file as SWF/HTML5, the audio plays perfectly. Is there a secret to publishing as HTML5? Thanks.
I’m working with Captivate 17 – 10.0.1.285. I previewed the files using the Publish – HTML5 method as well as F11. I get the same results… the audio plays through all the slides in the presentation or “lesson.” As far as Autoplay, I unchecked the Autoplay box under Start and End. I haven’t done much else with it. When I upload the files to Moodle, a huge play button appears on the screen. I have no problems running the lesson from the play button or the navigation bar at the bottom of the presentation.
The files I’m working with don’t have any interactive features, but the user is required to complete the lessons in Moodle and receives a grade in the grade book for each lesson he or she completes. Thanks for your help.
Can you please check the exact version number under Help, About Captivate? It should be 10.0.1.285.
You didin’t tell which Preview method you are using, nor if this is a responsive or a non-responsive project. If it is a non-responsive project, you need to know that the only method showing HTML5 preview more or less correctly is F11, Preview HTML in Browser. The other preview methods use a temporary SWF file, are not representative for HTML output.
The version I mentioned has disabled AutoPlay. How did you cope with that?
