I have a project where i have used shape as button and given an advance action to that shape. But this shape (use as button) is not working as well that advance action is not executing the result, when i publish this project in HTML5 version.
While playing this project or publishing in other format like SWF ,it works properly. Is there any specific reason for this?
Are you indeed on 11.0.1.266? Because there is an older version of CP2019.
I see the purpose of the action (show/hide and a state change) , would have used a shared action, because you use it multiple times on that slide. Do all the shape buttons have their pausing point at the same frame? Are you sure that all names are unique? Do you have an On Enter action for that slide (maybe to reset everything)?
I do not know about detailed version of CP 2019.
But this advance action function works properly in case of SWF, LMS and normal preview mode. But I do not know, why it wont work in particular to this HTML5 version.
Yes, they do have all the pausing button point at the same frame and all have unique name.
There is no action on enter for that slide.
Look under Help, About Captivate for the complete number.
Did you test with Preview in HTML5, which is the only Preview method to be used in a non-responsive project to test HTML5 output. Even that Preview is not totally alike to the real output, but you have to check that one first.
There must be another reason in that case. Is it a SCORM file? If yes, you could test i out on SCORM Cloud to see if it is functional there.
I don’t seen anything wrong in the action, except possible use of duplicate names. You may be sure, have lot of experience with advanced and shared actions.
I hope its not a SCORM file, because i have configured the quiz preference under LMS is for internal server not for the standard LMS, PFA.
Yes m sure that all the object in that slide have a different caption name.
If you are asking about the advance action, yes i have copied the same action. But all this actions are working properly, while doing F11.
Since you do set up Reporting, it should be possible to test in SCORM Cloud.
About names: not only on that slide, but in the whole project. I have had situations where duplicate names anywhere prevented execution of advanced actions, learned the lesson and have a very strict labeling system now.
BTW what is the reason for your topic title? There is no difference whatsoever concerning triggering an action between a shape button and the older types of buttons. Shape buttons have only advantages: can be used on master slides, on quiz slides, score slide and they can be timed for the rest of the project. Moreover they are much easier to style.
Can you please post a screenshot of that advanced action? HTML5 output is much less forgiving for small logical bugs than SWF. Moreover there are some slight differences as well for some commands. Please show me the action, use the Preview button which is the first button in the top right control panel, looks like a play arrow.
Can you also mention the exact version number of your CP? I hope you don’t publish at the same time to SWF and HTML5 because the multiscreen.html is not functioning well anymore.
