Keep getting actionscript keywords message

I have tricked every “trick” or workaround that I have come across, but when I try to use Web Object to embed a YouTube video, I keep receiving the message (when I preview) “Swf compilation failed. Please verify if any of the actionscript keywords is used as user variable name.”

I have also tried the YouTube widget and checked HTML5 Tracker.

Do not know what to do here…I do not yet know enough about variables to know how to even approach the problem.

Thank you,

Kelly

Hi. I’m still trying to find a fix to this as I get the same message.  I notice my project was working fine until i imported a ppt slide and ppt animations, elements convert to SWF so there might be a file issue when i did that, which now doesn’t allow me to publish in SWF, but I can in HTML5.  Any help would be great.

Normally automatically inserted SWF elements (as may be the case for FMR slides, maybe also for ppt slides) are converted to MP4 on publishing. Do you see MP4 videos in the published folder? It is not always working well, especially for FMR slides in software sims. Since I never use PPT import, cannot help you with that. Instead of losing time trying to fix that, why not create that unique slide in Captivate as well?

Could you solve the problem? If not, please answer my questions.

That message is not necessarily linked with variables at all. It appears in many circumstances.

Are you publishing to HTML5 (hope so)? Which version do you use please? Give the full version number as can be found under Help, About Captivate.
