After update fonts of previous projects are replaced to Tahoma

Hi,

After update I tried to open one of my existing projects and captivate prompts me that the Mariad fonts are missing and it replaces them to Tahoma. I have not used Mariad fonts in my projects at all and also the fonts that I have used still exist in captivate.

Any way we can get back the fonts how they were setup in the projects?

I’m having the same problem myself in the following ways:

  1. I can’t open any projects. It seems that Captivate is assessing the fonts used in my projects, and gets hung up. The program will crash in this case.
  2. If I open a project with fewer text captions, etc. the file will open. I will, however, be prompted to change all my fonts to Tahoma. The fonts are installed on my computer so I know they’re present.

I also tried to download and install the fonts with the Creative Cloud app but it said they were already installed. I had to revert back to a previous version of Captivate to work yesterday.

Hey,

Please give this article a read https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/replace-missing-fonts.html

You might not be directly using the Myriad Pro font in your projects. But it could be in use in Object styles in OSM, Master slides or the theme. That’s why you are seeing that dialog. You can choose to replace the font or Install “Myriad Pro Regular” Font and the dialog won’t show. Please reply here, if the issue persists.

Want to add something. Lot of users ignore that most font families come with a myriad of fonts (up till 40 or even more). You may have installed some of those but not all. If you are missing one of the fonts used in a project, the warning will pop up to replace the font. Tahoma is indeed a choice for sans serif fonts as generic replacement.

This looks like a bug, because several users reported similar problems. Please log a bug report.
