Closed captions not displaying using Google Chrome

I’ve created three Captivate modules using Captivate 2019 and uploaded them to our website. The modules all have a narrator and closed captions that are displayed at the bottom center of each screen. I’ve tested the modules prior to sending them to management around a week ago, and the cc line was playing fine. Now, the CC is not displaying in Google Chrome, but is displaying using Explorer or Firefox. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks much.

  1. published as html5, no swf
  2. This was a non-responsive project, not sure about scalable html output, believe that this was 11.0; I just today upgraded to 11.5
  3. I will try the fix mentioned at https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2607945

As I work in an environment with deaf people, it’s imperative that my projects have working closed captions….

Thanks much for the feedback. Let me know of any additional comments or thoughts.

The index file is missing some code which makes the cc disappear in full screen. This is a great post regarding the fix.

Thank you. The solution suggested in this thread worked for me.

Mary,

Were these published to SWF format?

Is this a non-responsive project, using Scalable HTML output? Are you on 11.0 or 11.5?
