Does anyone know why when I click a source, it automatically slides into the drop target on its own?

Not sure we can dissect this behaviour without the source file.  It’s darned peculiar.

Let me ask this:  if you were to completely recreate this interaction, do you get the same behaviour?

I noticed a point of concern about the structure of this question.  The answer for “Mom” is “Parent” and “Dad” is “Parent.”  Which means, technically, that if I were to match “Mom” to the second “Parent” line and “Dad” to the first “Parent” option, I’d be correct, but scored as incorrect.

This doesn’t solve your initial problem, but will be something else you need to tackle if your quiz starts working as it should.

Thanks for the reply.  We got the same behavior on multiple captivate files, even working on a Mac and PC in different locations.  At times it was intermittent though.  We do have separate drop zone names for the “parent” zone though … but thanks for catching that. Attached is the Captivate (latest version) file.

Couldn’t open the file. Which exact version do you use?

OK, maybe I tried on a system with 11.0.1 and that is not compatible. Need still that older version because of the LMS bookmark problem with 11.5.

Some clarification: The drag and drop slide is behaving like described above.  When you click the source, it jumps to the drop zone. Maybe it’s a bug: You can see it here: http://www.nccwcourttraining.com/published/dragdrop

Must have misunderstood the question in that case. D&D never behaves like that for me. The link is not working, couldn’t watch it. Which version are you using (full version number)? Is this always happening that way or just in one project?

Not with the D&D slide, which is logical because it is meant to use dragging. But you can create a custom slide where this is happening. How will the learner control the target to which the former drag source has to move to?
