No system sound on screen capture

I have an old training piece that runs as an EXE using Flash Player 7. It contains animations and voice-over. I want to capture it into Captivate.

I created an Interactive Video project to capture it but it only captures video, no sound.

Any ideas on why I can’t capture the sound?

Hey, I have an issue every time I try making a Video Demo (screen capturing) with the system audio track. When I finish recording, the video is there, however, no sound track.

When I look in the cashed projects folder I could luckily find the sysaudio.wav system audio file. When I try adding the audio to the video demo, I have an error message:

“Unable to import the audio file. Ensure that the file type is either MP3 or WAV. Also ensure that the file is not damaged”.

The file is not damaged, I can play it perfectly. Is this because the recording is long (3 hours). ?

Hope anyone can help Thanks

THREE hours!!!!  That may really be one of the origins of the problem. Who would watch a 3 hours demo as eLearning asset? Sorry for that first reaction.

I do use Video Demo as start for an interactive video, but never for long videos. Longest one I created was about 15 minutes, and even in that case I did compose the video from multiple smaller clips with transitions to be sure everything remained synchronized properly.

If I need to just capture a longer video, as was the case for presentations last year, and will be also the same for the workshop I am asked to deliver at the next Conference, I will use the recording feature of Adobe Connect. There may be better solutions, this is only my personal preference. I use Premiere Pro for editing.

Do you perhaps have the original cptx project?  Since you talk about an exe file, this was NOT a Video Demo project as you mention in the tags, but probably a normal software simulation in demo mode.
