Recording in Internet Explorer

I am recording a software simulation in Internet Explorer 11 and cannot figure out how to exclude the browser elements, such as the address bar and toolbars, from the video capture, unless I manually resize each window. I’ve researched and cannot find an answer. I am using Captivate 2019. Also, new windows that open in the application do not open inside the recording box; I keep having to resize these windows. The Move New Windows Inside Recording Area is selected in the Global Preferences.

I’ve attached screenshots of my Captivate and IE settings.

Thanks for any help!

As promised I tested some more today, and couldn’t reproduce the issue I had two days ago. It was possible to set the browser window to a custom size, which I couldn’t do before. I never use IE, but tried with Edge, Chrome and Firefox. All OK.

Did you install the hotfix for recording?

Had similar problems with 11.5, still figuring out what happens. It was also when recording a browser. I do run Captivate as administrator, did clean the preferences when installing the update to 11.5 and installed the hotfix (capture.dll). Will keep you informed if this is a bug or can be fixed.

Choose Application and then select Application Region. You will then be able to click on just the viewport window to only record what’s inside the browser. Make sure you are recording on your primary monitor. Recording on a secondary monitor doesn’t work too well. If you like I have a tutorial that might help. https://youtu.be/lw2UnrmwHPs
