Video not playing in responsive project
I am an agile coach and an executive leadership coach. I typically work with organizations who want to transform their culture, often involving many people, like my current client of 300,000 people. I'm hoping to learn to do eLearning well enough to scale myself.

Hi – My video is not playing when I insert it from the library into a slide in a responsive project. But when I insert that same video into a non responsive project it plays.

So how can I get the video to play in the responsive project. I tried unlocking it from fluid boxes but it didn’t work.

Here is the captivate file attached. It has 2 slides:

  1. 5 second video attached as event video – does not play (at least not in timeline or in Preview, Project
  2. Same 5 second video attached as SLIDE video. DOES play. Should I just use this for splash video screen?

I created this captivate project as File, New, Responsive Project, then I chose the blue template you see.

Thanks for any advice,

Kelly

I tried inserting as an event video. I’m having the same problem when I try to insert in a non responsive project. How I tested was: played the video from timeline. Also went to Preview, Preview project.

What’s the next thing I could try?

Sorry to tell you, not the first one to be confused by the fact that Play Slide is under the Preview button which is a UI mistake. Play slide is NOT a Preview mehod at all, is only meant to be used during editing for synchronizing. Try one of the other real Preiew methods, which do create a temporary HTML output and play in the Browser.

In a fluid box it can only be inserted as an event video, not as a synchronized video. Was that the case?

How did you test? Preview or after publishing and uploading to a webserver?
