Adobe Captivate 2019 Update 3
I've been an eLearning designer and developer since 2005. In 2015 I started my own eLearning design company. I began creating Adobe Captivate video tutorials to help promote my business through my YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/captivateteacher. My intention with my YouTube videos was to attract attention from organizations looking for a skilled Captivate developer. This strategy proved successful as I've worked with clients worldwide, helping them build highly engaging eLearning solutions. In addition, my YouTube channel presented another benefit of attracting aspiring Captivate developers to seek me out as a teacher. I now offer online and onsite training on Adobe Captivate, teaching users the skills to build engaging and interactive learning.

I’ve never really have had issues with updating but when I have troubleshooting I can’t solve I shoot an email to CaptivateHelp@Adobe.com and let the team at Adobe help me out.

Hey Paul. Nice to see you on the tube again!

I’ve just tried to perform the installation because Captivate kept crashing on me.

Update to Captivate 11.5.1. on Mac OSX 10.13.6

Took ages and finally stopped at 9%, reporting an Error code: 117, which, based on the Adobe help, is a network access error. I find this hard to believe, as my tested download speed is > 75MBPS.

Tried:

  • Rebooting in safe mode
  • Cleaning preferences etc.
  • Completely uninstalling, downloading and reinstalling from Adobe then applying update from Update menu.

Spent hours on this and absolutely nothing works.

I’ve been a Captivate user, trainer and beta tester for years and I have to say that I’m completely flummoxed.

As an owner of a paid subscription, I’m also more than a little pissed off.

Any ideas?
